About
I have a background in Geography, acquiring an undergraduate degree from the University of Victoria in 2016, with a focus on environment and sustainability and coastal conservation. My interests lie in marine activities, specifically relating to small vessel activities in the Salish Sea. I also have experience using GIS, R statistical programming and WordPress website design. I am an avid boater, kayaker and surfer myself, I enjoy spending as much time as possible on the water, and spend my time outside of research guiding and instructor kayak and SUP throughout Vancouver Island.
My masters thesis focuses on exploring small vessel and fishing activities using photogrammetric data and AIS at specific locations that are considered key feeding areas for Southern resident killer whales.
